There is a lot going on in TV land this week. From a new Bones on Monday to a new Hell’s Kitchen last night (which has been TIVO’d to be viewed over lunch today ) to a new Wife Swap and Top Model tonight, to Smallville and Survivor tomorrow night, and finally - FINALLY a new Moonlight on Friday. That show’s been on hiatus forever and it was just starting to grow on me too.
Now, I know there are only a small amount of shows that I really talk about in this blog, and that my tastes run toward the rather nerdy stuff. I wish I had the time to get into a wider range of shows, but I’ll do my best to pass on the things I hear.
But speaking of nerdy, I have read that Joss Whedon’s new show, Dollhouse, began filming today! Excitement abounds! And former Angel actress, Amy Acker, has joined the cast. She played Fred/Illyria on that show. I’m ecstatic about that. Now we just have to hope FOX doesn’t cancel the show just when it hits its stride.

Exploring other channels by TV Chick on March 1st, 2008 Sometimes I get hooked on shows outside of the main networks.
So the premiere of Hell’s Kitchen last week did not disappoint. It’s a little over the top I think, but in a good way. The moment Gordon Ramsay tasted a wannabechef’s “signature dish,” leaned over and promptly vomited profusely, I knew my favourite mean old chef was back
I already have contestants I want gone because of sheer annoyance. Already think I can spot the ones who will make it to the end. I was surprised that the women have a new sous chef to guide them. I liked the other one. Er, well obviously not well enough to remember her name or anything.
I’ve missed Jean-Phillipe and his adorably snooty maître d’ attitude. Most of all I’ve missed the howls of “YES CHEF!” whenever Gordon tells them they suck.
Do the Kitchen is open, and on tonight at 8 CST Enjoy!

Why I stopped watching American Idol by TV Chick on March 14th, 2008 I think I started watching AI in the middle of the first season, mainly just to see what the hype was about.
Color me excited! I love me some Gordon Ramsay, most particularly when he’s shouting at some culinarily-challenged chef-wannabe who’s making bonehead mistakes like trying to serve spaghetti that’s been binned.
This will be the show’s fourth season (and I never expected it to get past one or two season, to be honest) of heated battles, junk food cuisine, fun rewards, lots of sucking up, lots of competitive, arrogant cooks and most importantly, lots of swearing. Anyone who’s ever worked in a proper kitchen knows it’s an almost necessary component of chefdom. It’s a high-pressure field and all that pressure needs a release.
Ramsay also revealed to Entertainment Tonight that the possibility for a fifth season is good because they’ve already filmed it. Sweet!
