The Return of Captain John

Captains Jack and JohnTonight is the series finale of Torchwood. In the UK. We’re a couple of episodes behind here in Yankeeland. So why am I posting about it now? Because by the time it airs on BBC America, it will already have been downloaded or streamed to fans on this side of the pond. I am impatient. I need a James Marsters fix and the fact that he happens to be the guest star on the last episode of one of my favourite shows is just a big old bonus for me.

Here’s the official summary for the finale:
Captain John returns to have his revenge on Torchwood. Taking Captain Jack prisoner he sends him back in time for a long overdue reunion. Without their leader Torchwood are faced with a city flooded with Weevils, on the brink of destruction. But who is Captain John really working for? Can anyone trust him? And how great a price must Torchwood pay to save the city?

Can. Not. Wait! Marsters has said in numerous interviews that he’s had a blast working with John Barrowman (Captain Jack), Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper), Burn Gorman (Owen Harper), Naoko Mori (Toshiko Sato), and Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto Jones) and though nothing is confirmed, I’m definitely hoping he’ll be back next season.

I won’t rehash what Torchwood’s all about if you’ve never seen it - you can see that here. All I’m going to say is if you like dark, funny sci-fi, head over to BBC America on Saturdays and check it out!
