Long Time Coming
I’ll remember where I was when Barack Obama become our 44th president.
As the television at left shows people in Chicago celebrating just after President Barack Obama finishes taking the oath of office Tuesday morning, officially becoming the first African-American president in the nation’s history, Grand Island resident Ruby Washington (right) celebrates with her son-in-law, Paul Harris. “I never thought we would see an African-American president during my life,” Washington said.

That was pretty much my initial reaction. The difference being that I had to resist the urge of screaming and hopping up and down, as I was in my 4th period Personal Finance class.
