Recently, our newspaper implented registration for commenting on stories. There have been issues with getting the registration confirmation emails working, and I’m told that it’s being worked on. There is a workaround, and though it’s a bit clunky, it will work.

According to The Independent’s parent company, GateHouse Media, at 9AM EST on Wednesday 6/11/08 we will integrate commenting registration across all sites.

First, The Independent won an award for Best Website this past weekend. Woohoo! And three days later the website underwent a complete redesign from the ground up. Time will tell if the new look helps us win again next year.
