Loading ...Monitoring the weather
So there’s a big ice storm on the way, apparently. Robert Pore, our fabulous ag reporter, is monitoring the situation closely and posting updates on the front page of the Independent website. Be sure to watch that space. From the looks of it, the ice/sleet will hit after midnight tonight and last most of the day Saturday which will make driving quite hazardous. Hopefully, this won’t be as much of a problem as it was when the Big Ice hit over New Year’s this year.
So that’s the Big Buzz in the newsroom today - well, that and Steve Pederson going back to Pitt as their athletic director. As you can imagine, our very active Husker forums are discussing this turn of events.
Today is also, as far as I know, our last day as part of the Morris Communication family, as the sale of The Independent and 14 other papers is finalized with Gatehouse Media. And so the transition begins!
