In this blog, we will blog about the goings-on inside the newsroom. Upcoming features, special events, improvements and How-To’s will be covered.

For example, in a little over a week, we are starting a new campaign called the 12 Days of Christmas where we’ve worked out deals with some of our area’s best restaurants and businesses to give you 1/2 off gift certificates.

Each day we will feature a business of the day. At 9:00 AM, we’ll open up the ONLINE store for that day’s business. But you have to be fast - we are only able to provide a limited number of gift certificates per week.  It all begins November 14th.

How about taking a little tour of our new production facility? This giant leap forward for The Independent has allowed us to produce quality video both for shows like HQ Overtime and Simply Cooking, as well as put out a twice-daily news roundup.

These are just a few of the things we’re doing here at The Independent. I plan to post in here daily so check back often to find out what’s happening inside the newsroom
