Thinking like a woman.
Friday, June 13th, 2008Day 15.
I distinctly remember hating track in high school.
Oh, I liked being on the team. I liked competing. I liked going to meets. I really liked all those girls.
I just hated … running. Everyday. Until I felt sick.
But now I like running. It’s different, and I don’t know why. That’s why, and not because I’m a man, it’s hard for me to think like a woman.
But I took off the three mile day. I’m taking off today. But tomorrow I’m fixing the bike and going for a ride.
Now, thinking like a woman, I will tell you I lost another pound this week. That’s six total. And my wedding ring fits again, so I’m doing something right.
And speaking of women I like, Melissa successfully completed her second day of walking/running yesterday. Her legs feel horrible and she feels great. She’s going to start a different routine than I’m on. She’s going to do some stability ball exercises on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. And she’ll do thirty-minute brisk walks on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday. Fridays will be our days off together.
With her sore legs, we’ll see if she thinks like a woman.
WORDS OF THANKS: Thanks to all those giving advice, both here, on the phone and in person. I greatly appreciate it. Even you, George. I’ll be back on the trail in no time … bad knee and all.
